Unique location of the Gydan peninsula is conducive to a flexible and competitive logistics. It secures year-round LNG shipping to transshipment facilities in Murmansk region and at Kamchatka. From there, LNG will be delivered to the European or Asia Pacific markets. The Kamchatka facility will receive 80% of LNG produced by the Project, while the remaining 20% will be routed to Murmansk.
Special-purpose Arc7 carriers will deliver the LNG supported by nuclear-powered icebreakers when sailing east through the Northern Sea Route in the winter.
Arc 7 carriers (according to Russian classes) that are built for the Arctic LNG 2 Project were tailored to enable year-round navigation westward without the support of icebreakers and can cross the Northern Sea Route to the east on their own during the summer navigation.
