The Utrenny Terminal, which is under construction within the framework of the Arctic LNG 2 Project, is area 2 of the Sabetta sea port. The comprehensive plan to overhaul and expand the trunk-line infrastructure until 2024 (adopted by the Russian Government decree 2101-r dated 30.09.2018) comprises the construction of the Utrenny Terminal in the Sabetta sea port with federal property (underwater hydrotechnical structures, ice barriers, navigational safety facilities); it also comprises improvement of the sea channel.
The main facilities of the Utrenny Terminal either are owned by the investor (Arctic LNG 2 LLC) or are federal property.
The Utrenny liquefied natural gas and stable gas condensate terminal (the Utrenny Terminal) will contain: harbor protected from the environment, complete with multipurpose quays, utility infrastructure, and onshore part with administration buildings and facilities.
- The multifunctional quay (merged with administrative area) will serve as a place to receive liquid cargo and cargo necessary for construction and installation throughout the Project in its entirety. The quay will be available for ships year-round.
- The quayside with the artificial land plot is needed to house Plant's onshore facilities. Its purpose is two-fold. At the initial phase of the Project, it will serve as a quay to receive construction cargo. Subsequently, trains will be placed at the quayside and hooked-up to the onshore facilities.
The Utrenny Terminal approach channel is 5.6 km long and 510 m wide. It ensures navigation in fast and drifting ice conditions.
